Mr. Anthony Rocha, RMT, Bsc., B.Ed.
Anthony has had the opportunity to travel the world learning effective
healing techniques. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Trent
University he travelled to Sydney Australia where he received his teaching
degree in Sydney, Australia. He then went on to teach anatomy as a
Science Specialist in California. This knowledge of anatomy has served as
an excellent foundation for his training as a Yoga Instructor in India, and a
Reiki Master in Japan. Having lived in crowded cities like Tokyo Japan,
Sydney Australia, and San Jose California, he has encountered people
feeling the physical effects of a hectic lifestyle. This led Anthony to study
massage therapy at Sutherland Chan Massage School in Toronto to learn
how he could help. His dedication to updating skills has lead him to take
courses in Deep Tissue Therapy, Sports Massage, and face and scalp
massage for TMJ (jaw pain), headaches and neck pain. In his latest course
about Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Anthony learned how
to use heated tools that effectively sink deep into muscles to reach the
source of pain. The warmth from the tools eases the muscles into letting
go so that the treatment is less painful and you leave feeling better and
ready to get back to an active lifestyle.
Anthony’s treatments address the muscles, joints and fascia to resolve the
underlying source of pain and dysfunction. His detailed approach has
enabled him to effectively treat clients with scoliosis, sciatica, foot and
knee pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. With the comfort of adjustable
pregnancy bolsters that gently cradle the belly, Anthony also offers
prenatal massage to reduce back, and neck pain as well as swelling in the
hands and feet.
Anthony has a unique talent for identifying sources of pain in the body. He
will then provide a treatment plan to suit your specific needs, leaving you
in the ultimate state of relaxation.
What Is REIKI?
Anthony has had the rare and valuable experience of learning Reiki in the
country of its origin, Japan. His journey to discover Reiki is one that took
him to the far corners of the world. After receiving a Diploma of Primary
Education in Sydney, Australia from the University of Western Sydney, he
went on to become a teacher to Science students in San Jose California.
Working in Silicon Valley, Anthony noticed high levels of stress among his
students because of unhealthy work-life balance in families. He sought to
learn how to heal people from stress by moving to Japan, where Reiki was
first practiced. Anthony arrived in Tokyo and started to learn the Usui
method of Reiki. After studying in Japan for seven years, he became a
Reiki Master. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words
‘Rei’(universal) and ‘Ki’ (life energy). ‘Ki’ is the energy that gives all living
things their vitality. Reiki assists the body’s natural healing abilities,
reduces pain and stress, increases vitality, boosts the body’s immune
system, and generally gives one a sense of balance. Reiki provides a
source of restoring energy. This can be especially helpful if you are
stressed out, sick, receiving medical treatment, and promotes faster
healing after surgery. Reiki can safely be used with other medical
treatments such as acupuncture, chiropractic treatment, physiotherapy
and counselling.
